Homemade facial mask for dry skin

People with dry skin tends to have flaky and dull skin as their skin is unable to retain moisture. If one does not take care of their dry skin then it can cause premature wrinkles at an early age, so it is best to hydrate your skin with proper care through applying facial oils, good cream moisturizer and a good home made mask. Below are two of the best homemade mask that can make your skin supple with hydration.

1) Egg Mask
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon potato flour
  • 1/2 greek yogurt
Honey, Yellow, Beekeeper, Nature, Beekeeping, Apiary

Beat the egg white in a bowl until it becomes fluffy. Mix the yogurt, potato flour and honey together. If the consistency is too dilute then add 1/2 teaspoon potato flour to adjust the mask. Apply this mask on a clean face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off and pat dry your face.
Why it works: Honey is antibacterial and contains loads of antioxidants that helps fight aging by slowing it down. It also boost the complexion by moisturizing and soothing it to retain its glow. As for potato it contains a healthy dose of vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6, fiber, magnesium, and antioxidants that helps get rid of pigmentation on the skin. Yogurt contains lactic acid that clears the skin and also nourishes it with its natural cream to supply moisture to your skin.

2) Brighten Mask

Take oatmeal powder in a bowl then add honey, aloe vera gel and milk cream to it and mix it well. If the consistency is to thick add more cream to it until you get desired consistency. Apply it on your clean face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it off and pat dry.
Why it works: Honey is antibacterial and contains loads of antioxidants that helps fight aging by slowing it down. It also boost the complexion by moisturizing and soothing it to retain its glow. Oatmeal is anti-inflammatory which soothes dry, itchy and sensitive skin. It exfoliates dead dry skin and promotes moisture absorption into the skin. Aloe vera gel has healing properties that combats inflammation of the skin due to having auxin and gibberellins hormone present in it. As for milk cream or heavy cream or double cream it has lactic acid in it that not only exfoliates but also nourishes skin by moisturizing it.
