Mature skin needs to be moisturized regularly in order to maintain its supple look and elasticity. As we age our skin slows down producing collagen and this is the main reason for skin thinning out and get sensitive as well. However, we can't fight aging but since prevention is better than cure all we can do is to take good care of our skin in order to have a brighter and glowing skin. One best way to look after your skin is by using cleanser that contain aloe vera gel will be very helpful to your skin. Below are two masks that are very effective.
1) Moisturizing Mask
- 1/4 banana mashed
- 1 teaspoon yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- a pinch of turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon oatmeal powder
First mash the banana then mix yogurt, honey, turmeric powder and oatmeal in it. Once it is combined into a medium form paste then it is ready to be applied. Apply it on a clean face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off and pat dry your face.
Banana contain many nutrient properties in it that are beneficial for skin such as potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, manganese, copper and fiber. All these properties nourishes the skin by providing antioxidants,soothes the skin from inflammation and smoothes out rough texture of the skin.Yogurt contain lactic fatty acid which clears out hyper pigmentation and also nourishes skin by moisturizing it.Honey is antibacterial and contains loads of antioxidants that helps fight aging by slowing it down and it also boost the complexion by soothing it to retain its glow.Turmeric powder is anti-inflammatory in nature that has curcumin content which provides a strong form of antioxidant by contributing a natural glow to skin. Oatmeal is anti-inflammatory which soothes dry, itchy and sensitive skin. It exfoliates dead dry skin and promotes moisture absorption into the skin.
2) Brightening Mask
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon potato flour
- 1/4 teaspoon aloe vera gel
- pinch of turmeric powder
Beat egg white then mix in aloe vera gel, potato flour and turmeric powder. Once the it is combined into cream paste consistency apply it on your clean face. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse it off and pat dry.
Why it works: Egg white is rich source of selenium, vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as zinc and copper. It tighten pores on the skin and retain moisture into the skin. As for potato it contains a healthy dose of vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6, fiber, magnesium, and antioxidants that helps get rid of pigmentation on the skin. Aloe vera gel has healing properties that combats inflammation of the skin due to having auxin and gibberellins hormone present in it.Turmeric powder is anti-inflammatory in nature that has curcumin content which provides a strong form of antioxidant by contributing a natural glow to skin.
